Gin Eolie was born in 2023 thanks to an idea of two friends, Dario Cataffo and Alessandro Rosati. Together they decided they wanted to create a liqueur that would bring back in flavour the main aromas of their land, the island of Salina in the Aeolian archipelago.
Looking to the millenary culture of these seven Aeolian islands that teaches us to observe and welcome natural cycles, they combine their skills and give life to a gin that expresses in its taste the salinity of seawater and the musty flavour of the caper: these two aromas, skilfully dosed with botanicals of aromatic and herbaceous plants, make it a distillate with great personality but at the same time perfect for shakerings of various kinds.

Part of the Distilled Gin category, it differs from London Dry or Compound Gin in the type of production. Starting with an alcohol base derived from grain alcohol, Gin Eolie is cleaner and odourless, designed for a second distillation with Juniper, and subsequent processing with the botanicals by infusion.
The peculiarity of this gin is its perfect versatility, whether drunk neat, appreciating its aromas and delicate but characteristic caper flavour, or combined with other flavours in a cocktail.

From the love we feel for the island of Salina, Gin Eolie was born. The history of this archipelago teaches us the importance of the art of capturing what nature has to offer. From this magical place, Alessandro and Dario seize the opportunity to combine their skills to create a recipe for a light, unique gin that leaves room for the unmistakable aromas and scents of the Aeolian Islands. The salinity of the seawater and the strong, bitterish taste of the caper are dosed with wisdom and care, to create an alternation of decisive but at the same time fresh flavours.
And it is precisely the Salina capers that distinguish and make the Aeolian gin inimitable. A millennial plant that in this location has found its ideal habitat to give life to buds that are extraordinary in terms of taste and intensity of aroma. And those used are even more unique because they are cultivated on a cliff overlooking the sea while being pampered by Verdi's airs. Then, once harvested and salted, they undergo a long process of barrel aging in chestnut wood barrels that give them, even more vigorously, that sour and pungent mustard taste, typical of these fantastic flower buds.
